Seeking Kitchen Manager

Our new iteration of The Harris Grill, A Cafe® in Mount Washington is accepting applications for position of working Kitchen Manager. Position reports to directly to GM and owners, and supervises staff of AKM, cooks, and dishwashers. Small but efficient kitchen produces nearly $1M in annual food sales.

Applicant should possess strong leadership and sandbox skills, mastery of safety and sanitation procedures, competency in scheduling labor to a budget, maintaining inventory, and minimizing waste. Proven leadership history, ACHD certification required; prefer culinary or related degree. Computer literacy required in basic MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook); will train on POS specifics (Aloha POS system, Aloha Labor Scheduler, Aloha Inventory). 

CHEFS PLEASE NOTE: This is a KITCHEN MANAGER position that runs a busy kitchen on a day-to-day basis, producing a lunch (seasonal), dinner, and Sunday brunch menu, plus on- and off-premis caterings. Though position offers the ability for the KM to flex the creative culinary muscles during twice-yearly menu revisions, caterings, and several paired beer dinners, position's main objective is the smooth and efficient running of the BOH operation. 

Salaried position, requires approx 50 hours standing, repeated heavy lifting, and climbing stairs. Compensation based on experience, plus vacation, gym membership, flexible scheduling, health insurance, generous discounts, yoga classes, bacon, and more.
